
IUTF Ascends On Geneva, Ohio for B1G Indoor Track & Field Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The stage is set as Indiana Track & Field embarks on its journey to Geneva, Ohio for the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships. Action is slated for Feb. 25 through Feb. 27 inside the SPIRE Institute. The men will compete in the morning followed by the women in the afternoon.

Last Time Out: Big Ten Open
The Hoosiers closed out their final regular season meet on Saturday as they hosted the Big Ten Open. Competing against in-state foe, Purdue, nine Indiana student-athletes left the final competition of the season on high note by setting personal records. Cooper Williams raced to first in the 600m while also setting a personal record with a time of 1:16.80. For the second weekend in a row, Shynae Deas set a new personal best but in the 800m this time. Deas crossed in a time of 2:11.19. Maddie Dalton, Abi Little, Mikaela Ramirez, and Gabriel Sanchez set personal bests in the mile. Dalton crushed her previous time by clocking a time of 4:50.38 and Sanchez nabbed a time of 4:10.77. Little notched a time of 4:57.60 while Ramirez saw a time of 4:57.28. Jake Gebhardt and Colin Murphy were the last Hoosiers to garner personal record as they competed in the 3000m. Gebhardt secured a time of 8:08.50 while Murphy crossed in a time of 8:33.6. In the field, Mahogany Jenkins set two personal best in the triple jump and high jump. Jenkins cleared a height of 1.68m (5' 6") in the high jump and saw a distance of 12.19m (46' 2.75").
Ranked
The Indiana women still hold the top spot in the USTFCCCA Great Lakes regional rankings. This is the third week in a row that the women have checked in at the top of the rankings.
On the men's side the Hoosiers are ranked No. 3 behind Michigan and Ohio State

Through four weekends of competition, 6 Hoosiers and two relays have top-25 marks in the NCAA.
