
Indiana Completes Four Game Sweep of Penn State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University baseball team completed the four-game sweep of Penn State, 2-1, at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Ind. on Sunday afternoon.
The Hoosiers have won seven-straight games, pushing the team's record to 7-1 on the season overall and in Big Ten play. Penn State fell to 2-6 on the year and in league play.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI fielder's choice off the bat of INF Paul Toetz.
• RHP Gabe Bierman notched the quality start for the Hoosiers, tossing six, one-hit innings. He allowed just one earned run and struck out six.
• With the game tied at 1-1 and runners at the corners, INF Jeremy Houston laid down a great bunt on the squeeze play, scoring the runner from third to give IU the one-run lead.
• Out of the bullpen, RHP John Modugno (1-0) earned the win, pitching 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on just one hit with one strikeout.
• RHP Matt Litwicki earned his second save of the season, recording the final four outs of the game. He didn't allow a baserunner while striking out a pair.

• The four-game sweep is the first for Indiana in a Big Ten series since taking all four from Michigan State on May 15-17, 2008.
• The sweep is the first of a Big Ten opponent for IU since a three-game series against Rutgers on May 16-18, 2019.
• OF Drew Ashley extended his on-base streak to 33-games dating back to the 2019 season with a single in the bottom of the third inning.
• INF Brennan Rowe made his collegiate debut and recorded his first hit in his first at-bat, a single to center in the bottom of the third.
