Bloomington, Indiana – The industry leader in Name, Image, Likeness education and marketing for student-athletes has honored IU Athletics for its excellence in the rapidly-emerging field.
Opendorse recently recognized both IU Athletics and IU Director of Social and Digital Media Lynnea Phillips at its fourth annual #AthleteDriven awards, celebrating the leadership role that IU has taken in this important new facet of intercollegiate Athletics.
Indiana received Opendorse's Highest Engagement in Power 5 award, recognizing IU as the leader among Opendorse's clients, a list that includes, among others, Louisville, Nebraska, Clemson, Illinois and Minnesota. Among the highlights from this year's content were these items:

In addition to recognizing the IU Athletics department, Phillips was honored with Opendorse's Athlete Driven Champion of the Year Award, honoring her leadership role not only at IU, but in intercollegiate athletics.
"It has been a directive and mission of Scott Dolson since he became athletic director to be the school that addresses upcoming changes in Name, Image and Likeness better than any other athletic department," said Senior Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications/Director of the Cuban Center Jeremy Gray. "These awards reflect that commitment and the tremendous work that has been done by our staff this year. None of it would have been possible without the incredible vision and determination of Lynnea Phillips. It has been genuinely remarkable and I'm thrilled that Scott's leadership and Lynnea's foresight have been recognized in this way."
IU Athletics first partnered with Opendorse in 2017, taking a leadership role in educating Hoosier student-athletes for the coming changes and opportunities in Name, Image, and Likeness rights. IU Athletics renewed its Opendorse Ready deal in 2020, and in doing so renewed its commitment to provide its student-athletes with the opportunity to understand their name, image and likeness (NIL) rights and receive hands-on assistance from experts to maximize their value while on campus. The program offers three core pillars to student-athlete success: Assessment, Education, and Performance – tailored to assist each individual athlete. By joining now with a 3-year partnership commitment, the Hoosiers are able to offer the program's NIL readiness solutions to every student-athlete at the University.
