Early Goal by Bennett Leads Indiana Women’s Soccer Past Wisconsin, 1-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The gamewinner by freshman Anna Bennett in the 12th minute and a shutout by senior Bethany Kopel led Indiana (4-3-0) past Wisconsin (4-3-1) at Bill Armstrong Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This victory marks the first time the Hoosiers have defeated the Badgers since September 25, 2016.
KEY MOMENTS
• In the 12th minute, sophomore Alaina Kalin took a shot on target, but the Badgers' goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer dived for the save. However, Bloomer didn't have possession of the ball before freshman Anna Bennett swooped into the goalie box and netted her first goal career goal deep into the far-right side of the net.
• The best chance for the Badgers came in the 22nd minute as Wisconsin's Cameron Murtha ran into the goalie box for a loose ball, but goalkeeper Bethany Kopel earned her first save as she was there for the block.
• After a foul Wisconsin would look for the equalizer in the 44th minute before heading into the locker room, but Kopel was once again there for the save.
• Indiana looked to push the lead as they fired six shots in the second half to Wisconsin's three.
• The Badgers would see their last opportunity in the 85th minute as Wisconsin's freshman Porter List took a shot on goal to give Kopel and the Hoosiers the victory.
