Describe your first experience sitting in stroke seat for a race.
I had a realization coming out of the start of the first race that I was sitting stroke seat and I could feel the 7 powerful ladies behind me backing me up. I never thought I'd sit stroke seat for a race but I'm glad I had the chance because it was such an adrenaline rush moving on crews from 8 seat and having that elevated trust that comes from feeling the entire boat and the 8 bodies working together.
In what ways do you think your boat progressed from the morning race to the afternoon race?
I think this lineup does great at reflecting and building off of what we felt in a previous piece. This weekend we really improved our rhythm off the start and getting into our strong base pace.
The next race is the Big Ten Invite, what are you and your teammates most excited about for that race?
Every race against these big10 crews is practice for the one race at Big Ten Championships. I think we're all psyched to be testing our limits and seeing how we matchup to these other crews so we can really improve and be extra prepared for Big Ten Championships.
