No. 24 Indiana Women’s Soccer Falls to No. 13 Penn State, 2-1

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – No. 24 Indiana women's soccer dropped a 2-1 decision to No. 13 Penn State on Thursday afternoon at Holuba Hall in University Park, Pa. after the Nittany Lions scored the gamewinner in the 60th minute.
KEY MOMENTS
• After a defensive battle in the first half that left both teams scoreless, Indiana took the lead in the 53rd minute. On an IU corner kick, freshman defender Anna Aehling headed it right to senior defender Hanna Németh who booted a long one to the far back of the net.
• In the 54th minute, Penn State's Frankie Tagliaferri fired back when she sent a shot flying straight to the middle of the goal from the center of the penalty box where it hit the gloves of Kopel, but she was unable to get the save.
• The Nittany Lions' Sam Coffey found the winning goal on a breakaway in the 60th minute to give Penn State the lead, 2-1.
• Senior Melanie Forbes and sophomore Avery Lockwood took a couple of on target shots but was saved by Penn State goalkeeper Katherine Asman.
• Indiana looked for the equalizer late as the Hoosiers earned a corner in the 90th minute, but a shot from Madeline Carlson to the top right of the net went wide.
