IUFH Heads To Ohio State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Field Hockey returns to action this weekend at Ohio State. The Hoosiers will take on the Buckeyes Friday, Apr. 2 at 3 p.m. and on Sunday, Apr. 4 at 12 p.m. Both games will broadcast live on Big Ten Network Plus.

CORNER HITS
Last Time Out: Maryland
Prior to the bye week, The Hoosiers took a trip east to face Maryland for two games. In game one, Anna Gwiazdzinski led the Indiana offense with two shots which included one on frame. Mary Kate Kesler and Peyton Becker also recorded a shot. Shannon McNally came up with four saves on the afternoon. During game two, Kesler tallied her first goal of the season with Emma Martin and Meghan Dillon earning the assist. Gwiazdzinski had a team-high three shots and McNally captured five saves. The Hoosiers fell 5-0 in game one and 3-1 in the series finale.
Career Firsts
Emma Martin scored her first career goal against Michigan on Mar. 5. She also appeared in her first game and got her first career start during opening weekend. Martin also has two defensive saves on the season.
Freshmen Meghan Dillon, Sophie Giltrap, and Anna Gwiazdzinski have taken their first shots of their Indiana careers. Giltrap leads the pack with three shots. Freshman goalkeeper Shannon McNally has started in every game of her young career for the Hoosiers.
Preseason Honors Roll In
Prior to the season, the Big Ten announced their Field Hockey Preseason Watchlist. Jemima Cookson, Sydney Keld, and Mary Kate Kesler landed on the list for Indiana.
New Year, New Faces
The Hoosiers add nine newcomers to their roster for the 2020-21 season. Jemima Cookson, Meghan Dillon, Taylor Etling, Brinley Foster, Sophie Giltrap, Anna Gwiazdzinski, Emma Martin, and Shannon McNally join Indiana as freshman. Sydney Keld joined the team in January 2020 as a transfer from the University of Delaware.
Turning to the staff, Will Holt enters his first season as an assistant under Head Coach Kayla Bashore. Holt brings a wealth of experience to Bloomington as he is a member of the US Men's National Field Hockey Team. He also has coached and played for many organizations across Europe.
