
Hoosiers Have Strong Showing At Big Ten Indiana Invite No. 2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After two weather delays, Indiana Track & Field showed progress at the Big Ten Indiana Invite No. 2 on Friday night. The Hoosiers walked away with 11 event wins.
Making improvements in the 400m hurdles, Shaton Vaughn won the event and saw a personal record time of 51.28.
Alyssa Robinson switched events and won the 400m by crossing in a personal best time of 54.11. On the men's side, Zubin Muncherji placed seventh with a time of 48.58. Micah Camble set a personal record time of 48.89 to finish in eighth.
Jake Gebhardt made his Indiana debut in the 3000m steeplechase and won the event in the personal record time of 9:15.66. Austin Haskett took silver in the event by clocking a time of 9:23.83.
The women's 3000m capped off a late night that saw five Hoosiers in the top spots. Mikaela Ramirez led the way with a time of 9:48.37 while Gracie Sprankle finished next in a personal best time of 9:52.64. Alyssa Skroge crossed in a time of 10:00.85 to place third while Abi Little took fourth. Little had a time of 10:02.07. Maddie Dalton rounded it out in fifth and saw a time of 10:06.07.
In the men's 10000m, Ben Miller was victorious as he clocked a time of 30:06.27. Skylar Stidam nabbed the bronze medal and a time of 30:40.08. Colin Murphy rounded out the trio with a fourth place finish and a time of 30:48.73. Sarah Schmitt took runner-up with a time of 34:56.69 in the 10000m. Ana Barrott crossed ninth and took a time of 35:52.88.
Ben Hibbert completed the 110m hurdles in a time of 14.79 to place fourth. Hibbert also competed in the 200m where he crossed in a time of 21.94 and finished in sixth.
Treyton Harris and William Session competed on the track Friday in the 100m and 200m. Harris crossed the finish line in the 100m in a time of 10.78. The Elkhart, Ind. native clocked a time of 21.33 in the 200m. Session placed seventh in the 100m (11.17) and 10th in the 200m (22.24).
Nick Couyoumjian had a personal best finish in the 800m with a time of 1:50.33. He won his heat and placed fourth overall. Parker Raymond finished in fifth with a time of 1:50.65. Aaron Bennett completed the men's field with a 10th place finish and a time of 1:51.97. Joely Pinkston had another solid finish in the 800m by placing fourth and clocking a time of 2:08.41.
Bailey Hertenstein ran a time of 4:14.73 in the 1500m to set a PR and finished in third. Kelsey Harris took fourth with a time of 4:16.13. Rounding out the top-5 was Hannah Stoffel who crossed in a time of 4:20.35.
Nolan Landis competed in the discus where he saw a mark of 52.12m (171' 0") to get the victory.
Nick Lane set a personal best in the hammer throw by heaving a distance of 60.54m (198' 7"). On the women's side, Princess Brinkley won with a distance of 53.43m (175' 3").
Maddy Pollard threw a mark of 17.01m (56' 0") in the shot put and won the event.
Jyles Etienne cleared a height of 2.03m (6' 8") to pick up the victory. Grayson Rolen took home silver after clearing a height of 1.99m (6' 6"). Mahogany Jenkins picked up her second personal best in a row in the high jump with a height of 1.71m (5' 7.25").
Hope Purcell threw the javelin a personal best distance of 31.07m (101' 11.25") to place second. She also competed in the high jump where she cleared a height of 1.67m (5' 5.75") and finished in fourth.
Nathan Stone won his second pole vault competition of the outdoor season. Stone cleared a height of 5.30m (17' 4.5") for the victory. Brock Mammoser picked up third and a height of 5.05m (16' 6.75").
Leah Moran won her third straight long jump competition with a mark of 6.16m (20' 2.5"). Moran also took a win in the triple jump with a mark of 12.96m (42' 6.25"). Paola Fernandez-Sola had a season-best distance of 6.00m (19' 8.25") and placed second overall.
Indiana returns to action next weekend where they split up at the Big Ten Meet and Big Ten Indiana Invite No. 3. Both meets are set for Friday, Apr. 16 and Saturday, Apr. 17.
