WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After allowing a five run third inning and watching their 2-0 lead vanish to a 5-2 deficit, the Indiana softball team showed resiliency and battled back for a 7-5 win and a 3-1 series victory on Sunday at Bittinger Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers struck first in the top of the second inning. Grace Lorsung singled to left field and Katie Lacefield tripled over the head of the left fielder to put Indiana up 1-0.
• Indiana added a second run in the third inning. Taylor Lambert singled and advanced to second on a SAC bunt by Gabbi Jenkins. Grayson Radcliffe doubled down the left field line to drive in Lambert.
• Purdue scored five runs in the bottom half of the third inning to take a 5-2 lead in the game.
• The Hoosiers didn't take long to respond with two runs in the top of the fourth Brooke Benson connected on an RBI triple and Lambert added an RBI singles to pull Indiana to within one at 5-4.
• Indiana tied the game in fifth inning. Radcliffe started things with a single and stole second base. Radcliffe advanced to third on a passed ball and Grace Lorsung flied out out to left field for the sacrifice to score Radcliffe.
• Indiana went ahead in the sixth inning with two runs to go up 7-5. Benson doubled to right center and Jenkins doubled to left center. Jenkins advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a SAC bunt by Radcliffe.

NOTABLES
• With the win the Hoosiers improve to 11-13 on the season.
• Amber Linton got the win for the Hoosiers and improved to 4-1 on the season. Emily Goodin re-entered the game and got her second save of the season.
• Four Hoosiers had multi-hit games and Indiana tallied 12 hits for the game.
• For the series, Indiana outscored Purdue 18-10 over the four games.
• Aaliyah Andrews hit .429 in the series with six hits in 14 at bats.
• Grace Lorsung hit .556 in the series with five hits and five RBI.
• Emily Goodin pitched 18.1 inning earning two wins and posting an era of 1.96 with 16 strikeouts.
• Gabbi Jenkins broke the Indiana program record for career stolen bases on Friday night and now has 91 for her career.
