
Hoosiers Put Up A Fight But Drop Both Games To Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa. – Indiana Softball (8-11, 8-11 Big Ten) played two games on Saturday afternoon against Iowa (12-7, 12-7 Big Ten). The Hoosiers fell to the Hawkeyes in both games of the day.
Game One: Iowa 8, Indiana 0
KEY MOMENTS
• Gabbi Jenkins hit a leadoff double to center field to get the Indiana bats going in the first. Grayson Radcliffe moved Jenkins up 60 feet to third with a sacrifice bunt. Jenkins was picked off shortly after to empty the bases.
• Bella Norton got on base with a two out single to center but was stranded.
• The Hawkeyes got two runs on the board in the first with a homerun over the right center field wall.
• With two outs in the third, Natalie Foor replaced Emily Goodin in the circle and delivered her first strikeout to get the Hoosiers out of a jam.
• Radcliffe led off the fourth by smacking a single to left field. After stealing second to get in scoring position Desiree Dufek hit a grounder to the short stop, but it moved Radcliffe to third.
• Aaliyah Andrews extended the fourth for Indiana with a walk and went on to steal second to but Radcliffe and Andrews were left on base.
• Iowa added another three runs to their lead with a base clearing double off the center field wall.
• The Hawkeyes batter hit one out to the center field wall that was ruled a homerun to increase the lead to 7-0.
• After walking in the final run, Iowa would take game one by a score of 8-0.

Game Two: Iowa 1, Indiana 0
KEY MOMENTS
• Gabbi Jenkins led the first off with bunt that got her safely to first. Grayson Radcliffe hit a single down the line as Jenkins tried to reach third but was out on the play.
• It took until the fifth before either team would get a run across the plate. The Hawkeyes saw a solo shot to left field to take a 1-0 lead late in the game.
• Looking for the equalizer in the seventh, Desiree Dufek got on base via a wild pitch. Aaliyah Andrews laid down a bunt single to put two runners on with no outs.
• Annika Baez got the sac bunt down which got Andrews to second and Lambert, who was in to pinch run, to third.
• The Hoosiers were threatening but Lambert was picked off to end the final game of the day.

• Jenkins, Macy Montgomery, and Grayson Radcliffe had hits.
