
Hoosiers Set For Two At Penn State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Field Hockey (0-10, 0-10 Big Ten) will hit the pitch this weekend at Penn State (4-5, 4-5 Big Ten). Game one of the weekend will be Friday, Apr. 9 at 3 p.m. The series finale will commence on Sunday, Apr. 11 at 11 a.m.

Last Time Out: Ohio State
The Hoosiers are coming off a weekend in Columbus, Ohio where they faced Ohio State in a two-game series. To kick off the weekend, Shannon McNally had eight saves. Despite the defensive effort, the Hoosiers couldn't get the offense going as the Buckeyes took game one by a score of 5-0. Meghan Dillon and Kennedy Reardon both had shot on the afternoon and Reardon's was on target but saved. McNally recorded four saves as Indiana dropped the second game 6-0. On Sunday.
Career Firsts
Emma Martin scored her first career goal against Michigan on Mar. 5. She also appeared in her first game and got her first career start during opening weekend. Martin also has two defensive saves on the season.
Freshmen Meghan Dillon, Sophie Giltrap, and Anna Gwiazdzinski have taken their first shots of their Indiana careers. Giltrap leads the pack with three shots. Freshman goalkeeper Shannon McNally has started in every game of her young career for the Hoosiers.
Preseason Honors Roll In
Prior to the season, the Big Ten announced their Field Hockey Preseason Watchlist. Jemima Cookson, Sydney Keld, and Mary Kate Kesler landed on the list for Indiana.
New Year, New Faces
The Hoosiers add nine newcomers to their roster for the 2020-21 season. Jemima Cookson, Meghan Dillon, Taylor Etling, Brinley Foster, Sophie Giltrap, Anna Gwiazdzinski, Emma Martin, and Shannon McNally join Indiana as freshman. Sydney Keld joined the team in January 2020 as a transfer from the University of Delaware.
Turning to the staff, Will Holt enters his first season as an assistant under Head Coach Kayla Bashore. Holt brings a wealth of experience to Bloomington as he is a member of the US Men's National Field Hockey Team. He also has coached and played for many organizations across Europe.
