Hoosiers Set to Host Big Ten Indiana Invitational No. 2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Track & Field steps back inside the Robert C. Haugh Track & Field complex to host the Big Ten Indiana Invitational No. 2. Due to weather, the meet will be moved to a one-day meet on Friday, Apr. 9. The first event is scheduled to commence at 3 p.m.
Indiana Schedule of Events
Men's Track Events— 400m, 110m hurdles, 100m, 800m, 400m hurdles, 200m, 3000m steeplechase, 4x400m relay, 1500m, 10000m
Women's Track Events— 400m, 100m hurdles, 800m, 200m, 4x400m relay, 1500m, 10000m
Men's Field Events— Hammer, long jump, pole vault, javelin, high jump, shot put, and discus
Women's Field Events— hammer, long jump, pole vault, high jump, shot put, and discus
Last Time Out: B1G North Florida Invite
On day one of the meet, six individuals saw personal records fall. Leah Moran continued to be dominate in the long jump with a mark of 6.39m (20' 11.75") to win gold. Mahogany Jenkins broke her personal records in the high jump (1.69m) and triple jump. Alyssa Robinson set a personal best in the 100m with a time of 11.56. Kelsey Harris placed second in the 1500m and garnered a personal record time of 4:16.42. Shaton Vaughn crossed in a time of 53.07 to place third and pick up a personal record. Bailey Hertenstein (2:09.90), Mallory Mulzer (2:11.24), and Maria Anderson (2:11.8) all slashed their previous bests in the 800m. Rikkoi Brathwaite took a new PR in the 200m with a time of. 24.37. Moran and Harris highlighted day two by winning the 800m and triple jump.

The USTFCCCA came out with their week three national rankings. The Indiana women are currently ranked No. 17 in the country. This is the first time since 2010 That they have reached this mark during the outdoor season. In 2010 they were ranked has high as 19.

The USTFCCCA announced their mid-season program of the year watchlist. The Indiana Men currently sit in sixth as they shift to the outdoor slate.
Senior Make Return
Due to the cancelation of the 2020 outdoor season because of the ongoing cOVID-19 pandemic, The NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility to those seniors who were unable to compete in their final outdoor season. Returning to the squad for the 2021 outdoor campaign are Adam Coulon, Khayla Dawson, Kelsey Harris, Treyton Harris, Leah Moran, Kyle Mau, Mallory Mulzer, and Joely Pinkston.
