
Illinois Edges Indiana in 10 Innings, 3-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University baseball team fell in 10 innings to Illinois on Tuesday afternoon, 3-2, at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Ind.
With the loss, the Hoosiers fall to 24-13 on the season overall and in Big Ten conference play. The Fighting Illini improve to 19-19 on the year and in league action.
KEY MOMENTS
• Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning, the Hoosiers cut the lead in half with an RBI double off the bat of OF Morgan Colopy. The freshman's two-bagger was his seventh of the season.
• Indiana tied it up in the next frame at 2-2. With the bases loaded and one out, OF Grant Richardson hit a deep fly ball to center field, scoring the runner with a sacrifice fly.
• Illinois took the lead in the top of the 10th inning on a solo home run off the bat of Taylor Jackson.
• In the bottom of the frame, Colopy singled and then reached second base on a passed ball, but was stranded there to end the game.

• OF Drew Ashley extended his reached-base streak to 21 games.
• LHP Ty Bothwell tossed three innings in his start for IU, allowing two unearned runs on three hits, striking out seven.
