
Hoosiers Fall to Ohio State, 3-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University baseball team dropped a 3-1 game to Ohio State on Sunday night at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Ind.
With the setback, the Hoosiers fall to 24-16 on the season overall and in Big Ten conference play. The Buckeyes improve to 20-18 on the year and in league action.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers took an early, 1-0 lead over the Buckeyes in the bottom of the first inning. After a leadoff double down the right-field line from INF Jeremy Houston, he scored on an OSU throwing error on a single off the bat of OF Drew Ashley.
• OSU tied the game with a run in the top of the second and then took the lead with two runs in the fifth to stake a 3-1 advantage.
• In the bottom of the ninth, Indiana had runners on the corners with two away, but the team's rally ended with a strikeout to end the game.
NOTABLES
• RHP Gabe Bierman (5-4) pitched five innings for the Hoosiers, allowing three runs on five hits. The right-hander struck out six batters in the game.
• Out of the bullpen, RHP Nathan Stahl tossed three shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four.
• RHP Reese Sharp pitched a scoreless ninth inning for IU, striking out one.
• Houston and INF Cole Barr each had two hits on the day to pace the Hoosier offense, with Barr also stealing a pair of bases.
