Stone Headed To Nationals and Two Qualify For Quarterfinal Races

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It was a men's competition day as Indiana Track & Field saw one advance to the national meet and two others move on to Friday's quarterfinals in their respective events.

In his first regional meet of his young career, Nathan Stone he punched his ticket to the final of the pole vault in Eugene, Ore. on Wednesday night. The Indianapolis, Ind. native cleared a height of 5.25m (17' 2.75") to finish in seventh overall.

Rikkoi Brathwaite earned an automatic spot in the quarterfinal of the 100m with a personal best time of 10.21.

Keeping the personal record streak alive, Parker Raymond also clocked a personal record in the first round of the 800m. The freshman crossed in a time of 1:48.11 to earn an auto qualifying spot in Friday's quarter final race.

The Hoosiers will return to action on Thursday, May 27 where the women will kick off their time at the NCAA East Preliminary. Competition is slated for 3:00 p.m. starting with the long jump and pole vault.
