
Fowler, Tyler Advance to Individual Finals

INDIANAPOLIS – The second day of the 2020 Olympic Diving Trials concluded with preliminary and semifinal rounds on the women's 3M Springboard and the men's 10M Platform at the IUPUI Natatorium on Tuesday.
3-METER
Rising sophomore Anne Fowler stayed in the hunt for a spot on Team USA for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. She stands in ninth place after 10 dives on the 3M Springboard with a score of 531.25 points. She needed a big score in her final dive to remain in the top-12 and delivered a 63.00, one of two 60-point efforts in the semifinals.
She hit 50-plus points in all five of her preliminary dives, including a 60-point effort on her third attempt to place seventh and advance to the semifinals.
The event will conclude with the finals at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 12.
10-METER
In-bound freshman Carson Tyler also punched his ticket into the finals of the 10M Platform with a six-dive score of 743.65 points. He is in ninth place heading into the finals. In the semifinal round, he hit six dives of at least 60 points, including back-to-back scores of 70.00 and 69.30 to close out his night.
He wrapped up the preliminary session in 10th place after scoring 355.75 points on his five-dive set. He topped the 50-point barrier in all five dives and twice secured over 60 points on a dive in his first set.
The event will conclude with the finals at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 12.

The 2020 Olympic Diving Trials will continue on Wednesday morning with preliminary heats in both the men's 3M Springboard and the women's 10M Platform. Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. with semifinal rounds starting at 7 p.m.
