Hoosiers Set For John McNichols Invite At Indiana State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Cross Country hits the road for the first time this season as they will compete at the John McNichols Invite hosted by Indiana State. The meet is slated for Saturday, September at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. The men's 8k will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the women's race at 9:45 a.m.

On the women's side, Jenna Barker will open her season this weekend. Barker competed at the Big Ten Championships and NCAA Championships in the spring and aided the squad to a third-place finish at conference championships and 19th at NCAA Championships.
Newcomer Tristan Forsythe along with Jake Gebhardt, Ben Miller, and Skylar Stidam will run their first meet of the season this coming weekend. Gebhardt, Miller, and Stidam helped the Indiana men's squad to runners-up at Big Ten Championships and 26th at NCAA Championships in the spring of 2021.
The last time the Hoosiers competed was on September 4 where they hosted their first home meet in nearly four seasons. Gabriel Sanchez and Mariah Wehrle won the meet for the Hoosiers. Sanchez crossed in a time of 25:13.94 while Wehrle saw a time of 18:02.14.
