Hoosiers Finish Two Rounds at Windon Memorial Classic

Second Round Suspended Due to Darkness

GLENCOE, Ill. – The No. 21-ranked Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team (580; +12) will have an uphill climb to get back in the team standings after a tough second round dropped the Hoosiers to 14th overall through 36 holes at the Windon Memorial Classic at the Lake Shore Country Club.

Play was paused due to darkness near the end of the second round and will pick back up at 8:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning, with the final round getting underway at 9:15 a.m. in Glencoe.

CHIP-INS
• Sophomore Clay Merchent shot a season-low 67 in the opening round of the tournament. His back nine was 5-under and included four birdies and an eagle on No. 13, the first carded by a Hoosier this season.

• Merchent played a 5-over 76 in the second round for a combined day one score of 143 (67-76; +1) with a pair of birdies on the second 18.

• Fifth-year senior Ethan Shepherd shot a 1-over par 72 in each of the first two rounds. He holed out a total of six birdies on the day, including back-to-back efforts on No. 17 and No. 18 to close out his initial round of the day. He finished the day at 144 (72-72; +2) overall.

• Junior Noah Gillard shot a 145 (71-74; +3) over the first 36 holes. He converted a total of six birdie attempts, including twice on No. 2.

• Senior Mitch Davis played a scorecard of 148 (72-76; +6) on Monday. He charted seven birdies through two rounds, including a string of four birdies in seven holes in the middle of the first round.

• Sophomore Drew Salyers registered a 149 (73-76; +7) through the opening rounds. He also connected on seven birdie attempts throughout the competition on Monday.

• Senior Harry Reynolds, competing as an individual, shot a 148 (71-77; +6) after the first day of golf. He tallied a total of six birdie attempts and made birdie putts on the ninth green in each round.
