Indiana Takes 10th at Windon Memorial Classic

Gillard, Merchent Earn Top-20 Finishes
GLENCOE, Ill. – The No. 21-ranked Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team (856; +4) saved the best for last with a tournament-best 276 (-8) over the final 18 at the Windon Memorial Classic at the Lake Shore Country Club on Tuesday.
The Hoosiers finished 10th in the team standings. The No. 14-ranked Kansas Jayhawks claimed the team title at 834 (-18).

CHIP-INS
• Junior Noah Gillard caught fire during the final round of play and converted seven birdies over the last 12 holes. He strung together three-straight birdies from No. 11-13 and tallied a 66 (-5), the lowest Hoosier score of the season.
• The round output is tied for the 24th best round ever for a Hoosier men's golfer and the third-best round recorded by an IU golfer at the Windon Memorial. He trails only Brendan Doyle (65 in 2017) and Jorge Campillo (63 in 2008) for low Hoosier round at the Lake Shore Country Club.
• Sophomore Clay Merchent registered his second round in the 60s of the tournament with a 3-uncer 68 on Tuesday. He bagged his second eagle in as many days, this one on No. 7 to go along with four additional birdies.
• Gillard (71-74-66; -2) and Merchent (67-76-68; -2) each tied for 16th in the individual standings.
• Senior Mitch Davis shot a 1-under 70 during the final 18 to finish in a tie for 47th place at 218 (72-76-70; +5) overall. He carded an eagle on No. 13, the third Hoosier eagle of the tournament, to accompany a birdie on No. 6.
• For the weekend, Indiana holed out three of the 22 eagles carded at the tournament.
• Fifth-year senior Ethan Shepherd played his third-straight round to a 1-over 72 in Glencoe. He finished tied for 42nd overall at 216 (72-72-72; +3). He was able to close out his tournament with back-to-back birdie on No. 17 and No. 18.
• Sophomore Drew Salyers finished the tournament tied for 71st overall after shooting a 222 (73-76-73; +9). His final round consisted of birdies on consecutive holes on No. 11 and No. 12.
• Senior Harry Reynolds, competing as an individual, tied for 47th overall with a total score of 218 (71-77-70; +5). His final round of 70 marked his best effort of the season and was aided by four birdies on his first nine holes.
