
Hoosiers Finish Sixth at Purdue Fall Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Purdue Fall Invitational at the Kampen Course on Tuesday. The Hoosiers closed out the tournament shooting an 886 (296-290-300; +22).
Tennessee won the Purdue Fall Invitational after their 856-shot performance (286-277-293; -8). From second to fifth place, respectively, LSU, Purdue, Little Rock, Nebraska, took the following spots.

Top Indiana Player: Mitch Davis – 217 (71-73-73; +1)
CHIP-INS
• Fifth-year senior Mitch Davis earned a top ten finish with his 217 (71-73-73; +1) performance. The strong finish came from a clean day three showing with 15 of his 18 holes played featuring a par or better.
• Junior Drew Salyers got off to a great start today, he had three birdies in his first six holes which led to his 221-stroke total (74-75-72; +5).
• Senior Noah Gillard had ten consecutive pars from holes six to 15 as part of his 223-stroke day (74-71-78; +6).
• Graduate transfer Thomas Hursey capped off the invitational with a performance of 229 (79-73-77; +5). He birdied on hole one.
• Senior Eric Berggren matched Hursey's 229 strokes exactly, but in different order 229 (77-73-79; +7). On six holes of the front-nine, Berggren shot for par.
• All three of Indiana's individuals tied for sixth in the individual competition. Junior Robbie Bender III's excellent day of 215 (70-72-73; +1) was highlighted by four consecutive birdies today from hole five to hole eight.
• Fifth-year senior Harry Reynolds turned in a scorecard of 215, too, (69-73-73; +1). 14 of the 18 holes played today saw Reynolds shoot for par or better.
• Freshman Cal Hoskins ended the Purdue Invitational shooting a 215 (72-68-75; +3). He had nine consecutive pars from holes eight to 16 today.
