Indiana Field Hockey Drops Home Game to No. 6 Penn State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Indiana Field Hockey lost at home to No. 6 Penn State, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The loss puts Indiana at 8-5 on the season and 1-2 in the Big Ten.
KEY MOMENTS
• Penn State scored early with a penalty stroke goal from Mackenzie Allessie in the second minute. Sophia Gladieux scored in the eighth minute, too, giving the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead in the first quarter.
• Penn State added on two more goals in the second half with Gladieux reaching a hat trick after 35th and 48th minute goals.
• The Hoosiers had at least two penalty corners in each quarter except for the third period, when they had one.
• Indiana's Sofia Arrebola Garcia had a shot on goal midway through the fourth quarter before it was saved by Penn State.
NOTABLES
• Three of Indiana's eight shots were on goal.
• Indiana freshman goalkeeper Nina Faupel made her first appearance of her collegiate career. She entered into the game at the 38th minute mark.
