BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's soccer team (2-4-6, 0-4-1) fell 2-0 against Nebraska (5-4-4, 3-1-1) after the Cornhuskers took an early advantage off a penalty shot.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers got down early after Nebraska scored on a penalty shot in the second minute after an IU handball in the penalty box.
• Freshman defender Natasha Kim gave the Hoosiers their first opportunity of the match in the 16th minute before reaching it reached the hands of the Cornhuskers goalkeeper.
• Junior forward Anna Bennett gave Indiana another opportunity to tie it up in the 18th minute as she shot one down the center but couldn't capitalize.
• In the 70th minute, Izzy Smith found an opening between the defense, but it was deflected by the keeper's hands. Freshman Sarah Sirdah got a second chance at it before her shot was saved.
• The Cornhuskers found the net again in the 76th minute.
