Indiana Defeated at No. 9 Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Indiana Volleyball team (13-15, 6-10) fell Sunday afternoon 0-3 (22-25, 9-25, 15-25) to No. 9 Minnesota in Maturi Pavilion.
This matched marked the final in a stretch of five-straight matches against top-16 teams with four of those games coming away from home.
Candela Alonso-Corcelles, Mady Saris, Kaley Rammelsberg and Savannah Kjolhede all provided five kills while Paula Cerame led the way defensively with 13 digs.
The Hoosiers will return home on Friday evening for a match with Northwestern before heading to Columbus on Sunday for the final road game of the season.
SET 1 (Minnesota 25, Indiana 22)
• After going down 0-5 to open the set, the Hoosiers rallied to rattle off four-straight points behind a kill from Mady Saris.
• With Camryn Haworth on the endline, IU brought the match all the way back to 17-all with two aces from Haworth and kills by Candela Alonso-Corcelles and Kaley Rammelsberg.
• Mady Saris buried an absolute rocket of a kill to close the gap to 19-21 in the opening frame.
• The Gophers would respond to take the first set 25-22.
SET 2 (Minnesota 25, Indiana 9)
• Morgan Geddes tallied a kill early in the frame to bring IU within 5-7 in the second set.
• Candela Alonso-Corcelles buried a ball in the back corner to break the Minnesota run and close the gap to 7-16.
• Minnesota won the second set comfortably at 25-9.
SET 3 (Minnesota 25, Indiana 15)
• Kenzie Daffinee got hot from the service line and buried back-to-back aces to close the gap to 7-10 in the third set.
• Grae Gosnell hammered home a serve to continue a 5-2 run for the Hoosiers.
• The Gophers would close out the match in three with a 25-15 win.
NOTABLES
• Paula Cerame had 13 digs, the 12th-straight match she's been in double digits.
• Camryn Haworth and Kenzie Daffinee each had two aces, the 12th and 6th times respectively the duo has had at least two aces in a match this year.
