Indiana Men’s Tennis Secures Doubles Title, Wraps Up Big Ten Individuals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. ––––– The Indiana Men's Tennis team wrapped up a successful weekend of play in the Big Ten Singles and Doubles Tournament on Monday.

The Hoosiers had 10 players compete against the entirety of the Big Ten in Singles and Doubles brackets.

The weekend was highlighted by Indiana juniors Michael Andre and Ilya Tiraspolsky capturing the Doubles Title. The championship win over Bratholm and Yatsuk from Northwestern came in dramatic fashion. Andre and Tiraspolsky had to dig deep late in the match to win, 8-7 (7-3).

Indiana's Jagger Saylor and Luka Vukovic also had an outstanding doubles run, reaching the semi-finals.

In singles play, both Tiraspolsky and Patrick Fletchall made the round of 16, with Tiraspolsky advancing to the quarterfinals. Tiraspolsky won each of his three matches to reach the quarters in two sets.

The fall schedule for the Hoosiers is now done and the team won't hit the court again for competition until January. The Hoosiers will start their spring schedule on Saturday, Jan. 15 with a doubleheader against Dayton and Toledo at home.
