
Hoosiers Set to Host East Tennessee State, Middle Tennessee

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team continues their home stretch to start the season as they welcome East Tennessee State and Middle Tennessee to Bloomington this weekend.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers split a pair of matches last weekend with a victory over Yale and a defeat against Princeton. The Hoosiers are now 3-1 on the season as they head into their two matches this weekend.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
ETSU has a 1-3 record on the young season with a win against Presbyterian. The Bucs have faced a challenging early schedule with a pair of matches against Tennessee and a match against Clemson. Middle Tennessee State has already played 10 matches on the season and have a 7-3 record. The Blue Raiders started the season on a four-game winning streak. During the ITA Kickoff Weekend they lost to Georgia Tech and beat Ball State. They also have a 4-2 win over Louisville this season.
THE CAPTAINS
The Hoosiers captains for the 2022 season are seniors Patrick Fletchall, Carson Haskins and Mac Rogers.
Fletchall has won 23-career singles matches in his three seasons in Bloomington while also appearing at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles in the Hoosier lineup. The Carmel-native was also an Academic All-Big Ten honoree during the 2020-2021 season.
Haskins is among the most seasoned veterans returning to the IU team. He's notched 38-career singles victories and has spent time at most spots throughout the lineup. Like Fletchall, Haskins was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree last season.
Rogers is a Bloomington native and was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree during the 2020-2021 campaign.
TAKING A LOOK AT THE STATS
The Hoosiers are a combined 14-10 in dual match singles and 8-2 in dual match doubles through four matches. Ilya Tiraspolsky and Vikash Singh lead the way in singles, each with a 3-1 mark in dual matches. Michael Andre and Luka Vukovic have posted a 3-0 record at No. 3 doubles in dual matches this season.
