
Hoosiers Split Pair of Games to Open FAU First Pitch Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After a 9-5 defeat against Louisville to open the day the Indiana softball team came back for an 11-1 win against Florida Atlantic on Friday at the FAU Softball Stadium.
Game 1: Louisville 9, Indiana 5
Key Moments
• After going down 3-0 after the top half of the first inning, the Hoosiers respond with two runs in the bottom half.
• In the bottom of the second Brianna Copeland doubles and Brooke Benson drove in pinch runner Tatum Hayes to tie the score 3-3.
• In the top of the fourth inning Lindsey Warick threw out a Louisville baserunner going from first to second.
• Indiana loaded the bases in the bottom half of the sixth inning, but could not capitalize and left three runners stranded.
• In the bottom of the seventh inning Brittany Ford came in to pinch hit and hit a towering shot to right for a home run.

• The Hoosiers started four freshmen (Sarah Stone, Brianna Copeland, Kinsey Mitchell and Taylor Minnick).
• The home run for Ford was her second career home run.
• Aaliyah Andrews and Grayson Radcliffe tallied stolen bases for the Hoosiers.

• Cora Bassett hit a home run to right field in the top of the first inning.
• Grace Lorsung, Sarah Stone and Brittany Ford walked and Taylor Minnick was hit by a pitch to score a second run for the Hoosiers in the first inning.
• The Hoosiers scored five runs in the second inning, four of them from a grand slam by Brittany Ford.
• Grace Lorsung hit her first home run of the season with a shot to left field in the fifth inning.

• The home run by Bassett is her first home run for the Hoosiers. Bassett, the All-Big Ten performer last season at Purdue had three home runs last season.
• Brittany Ford blasted her second home run of the day and third of her career.
