BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Senior guard Grace Berger set a new career-high 29 points as No. 7/6 Indiana defeated Michigan State, 76-58, on Saturday inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

KEY MOMENTS

The Hoosiers (18-3, 10-1 B1G) faced a six-point deficit early but battled back thanks to senior forward Aleksa Gulbe's seven points in the frame to lead 17-12 at the end of the first ten played.
Offense on both sides stalled in the second quarter as Indiana capitalized highly at the free throw line, going 8-for-10. Holding just a three-point lead, graduate student guard Ali Patberg found graduate student guard Nicole Cardaño-Hillary down the court with just two seconds to go as it took a 32-27 lead.
Berger turned the jets on in the third quarter, behind a 30-17 effort for the Hoosiers, as she compiled 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting and a perfect 5-for-5 at the line. She helped her team go 68 percent collectively. It was part of a 21-point second half effort for Berger, who set a new career-high 29 points.
Indiana cruised in the final quarter, as all of its available players saw time in the victory.

NOTABLE

Indiana has now won three of the last four meetings against Michigan State.
The Indiana defense held Michigan State to 15 points under their season average of 73 points per game.
As a team, Indiana shot 43.6% from the floor and 35% from the 3-point line.
Indiana scored 14 points on second chance opportunities.

Senior Grace Berger had 29 points on 9-of-17 shooting and was 11-of-11 from the free throw line. She had seven rebounds and three assists, as well.
Berger's 29 points set a new career-high for points in a single game.

Senior Aleksa Gulbe had 13 points, six rebounds, and three blocks. Gulbe has scored in double-figures in four consecutive games now.
Patberg chipped in 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Cardaño-Hillary had 12 points while going 3-of-6 from the 3-point line. She had four rebounds, two steals, and two assists, as well.
Sophomore guard Chloe Moore-McNeil had 10 points off the bench.
Sophomore forward Kiandra Browne grabbed six rebounds in the game.

"On a day where we had to look out there with a whole bunch of different, not for us so much, but just different lineups that they presented to us, whether it was having three bigs on the floor, whether, just like when we went small, they tried to go bigger, and so give our kids credit for handling that. But I thought there were a lot of good things, seven turnovers today, which is excellent, git to the free throw line, which always makes me happy. KB (Kiandra Brown), you look at her stats, she doesn't have a basket, however she has two major big-time charges for us, rebounds the ball for us, had that nice kickout that ended up in a three. So, I could go through every one of them, they gave us something. Great win against an opponent that just knocked off Michigan the other night, so give our kids credit for showing up in a big kind of way and getting a big win today."
