Hoosiers Capture Doubleheader Sweep

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team blanked Western Michigan 5-0 and defeated Bellarmine 4-0 on Saturday at the IU Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers (5-1) got out to a strong start with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to win the doubles point.
The Hoosiers continued their hot start winning the first set in all six singles matches.
After starting hot winning the first set 6-2, Schneider on No. 2 was able to finish strong closing out the second set 6-0, giving the Hoosiers a two-point lead over Western Michigan.
Laura Masic was able to win on No. 1, 6-1, 6-4, giving the Hoosiers their third point of the match.
After dominating the first set, Hu, after going down early in the second set, was able to win on No. 4 with a 7-5 set, giving the Hoosiers their fourth and winning point of the match.
Against Bellarmine the Hoosiers won No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to earn the doubles point.
Laura Masic won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Sayda Hernandez won 6-0, 6-0. Bellarmine forfeited the No. 6 match due to only having five available players.
Up next the Hoosiers travel to Lexington for a match against Kentucky on Tuesday Feb. 15 at 11:00 am.
