Indiana Wrestling Drops a Dual at No. 6 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio ––– Indiana Wrestling lost at. No. 6 Ohio State, 34-3, on Sunday afternoon in the Covelli Center in their final regular season Big Ten dual. The loss bumps Indiana's record down to 3-7 overall and 1-7 in conference.
KEY MOMENTS
• Graduate student and No. 10 ranked Brock Hudkins (133) defeated Dylan Koontz with a last-second takedown in a 5-3 decision victory.
• In the first exhibition match, sophomore Derek Gilcher (157) beat Ohio State's Isaac Wilcox by a 3-1 decision in the first period of Sudden Victory.
• In the final exhibition match graduate student Garrett Hoffman (197) got to compete against his brother, No. 21 Gavin Hoffman (197).
• There were a number of really close battles among the Big Ten squads with five bouts coming down to two points or less.
NOTABLES
• With Hudkins' win, his season record moves to 10-2 overall and he has reached 58 career victories, the most of all current Indiana wrestlers.
• Gilcher's victory marked his eighth win of the season and his second win in a dual. Gilcher is now 8-4 on the season.

• Indiana Wrestling will have a week off before closing out its regular season with a dual vs. Chattanooga on Sunday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. in Wilkinson Hall. The dual will recognize Indiana's seniors and alumni of the program.
