Hoosiers Travel to Louisville

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team plays their first match outside of Bloomington, when they travel to Louisville for a match against the Cardinals on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers came up short in a 4-2 defeat against Butler, but rebounded for a 4-0 win over Xavier. Against Butler Patrick Fletchall and Luka Vukovic picked up singles wins for the Hoosiers. Against Xavier, Fletchall, Vukovic and Ilya Tiraspolsky won singles matches for the Hoosiers. Indiana also won the doubles point against Xavier.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Louisville has posted a 5-4 record on the season. The Cardinals have beaten Big Ten opponents in their last two matches, with a 6-1 win over Michigan State and a 7-0 win over Purdue. The Cardinals have played two ranked teams with a 4-0 defeat against No. 11 Kentucky and a 4-3 loss to No. 20 UCF.
TAKING A LOOK AT THE STATS
Luka Vukovic leads the Hoosiers in singles wins in dual matches with five on the season. Ilya Tiraspolsky has won four singles matches. In doubles Michael Andre and Luka Vukovic have posted a 3-0 record in dual matches.
THE CAPTAINS
The Hoosiers captains for the 2022 season are seniors Patrick Fletchall, Carson Haskins and Mac Rogers.
Fletchall has won 23-career singles matches in his three seasons in Bloomington while also appearing at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles in the Hoosier lineup. The Carmel-native was also an Academic All-Big Ten honoree during the 2020-2021 season.
Haskins is among the most seasoned veterans returning to the IU team. He's notched 38-career singles victories and has spent time at most spots throughout the lineup. Like Fletchall, Haskins was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree last season.
Rogers is a Bloomington native and was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree during the 2020-2021 campaign.
