Baseball Falls in Opener at Karbach Round Rock Classic

Pyne delivers first career RBI vs. Arkansas
ROUND ROCK, Texas – In its first game at the Karbach Round Rock Classic, the Indiana baseball program dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 2 Arkansas at Dell Diamond. A three-run fourth inning proved the difference in the third all-time meeting between the two programs.
Arkansas (3-1) got a single run in the first, scored three in the fourth and added one in the seventh. Indiana (0-4) pushed one across in the fifth inning and one in the eighth inning.
Senior Phillip Glasser and freshman Josh Pyne led the way offensively with two hits apiece, while Bobby Whalen reached base safely three times in the game. Redshirt-sophomore Morgan Colopy and Glasser each scored a run, while Pyne collected the lone RBI in the game.
On the mound, junior John-Biagio Modugno (0-2) tossed a career-high five innings but suffered his second loss of the season. He allowed three runs on five hits and struck out three batters. Freshman Grant Holderfield allowed one unearned run in two innings of work and senior Bradley Brehmer fanned two in two scoreless innings of work.
For Arkansas, Robert Moore drove in two RBIs and Cayden Wallace scored a pair of runs. Connor Noland (1-0) threw six innings and allowed one run on five hits to earn the win.

An RBI triple from Michael Turner was followed by a walk and hit-by-pitch to load the bases with one out. After a run was cut down at home plate, a bases loaded walk to Wallace pushed the second run of the inning across. Moore then reached on an error to score the third run of the inning.

Morgan Colopy tripled to right field and Josh Pyne followed with an RBI double to get IU on the board.
