Hoosiers Get Past Yale, 4-3

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 4-3 victory against Yale on Saturday at the IU Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers started the match with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to win the doubles point.
Indiana came out strong in singles as they won four out of six first sets in singles competition.
Vikash Singh gave the Hoosiers an early second point with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles, but Yale answered with a win at No. 3 singles.
Carson Haskins gave Indiana incredible momentum in the match with his play at No. 1 singles. Haskins found himself down 5-2 in the second set, but worked his way back and ultimately won the second set in a 7-5 tiebreak to win the match and put the Hoosiers up 3-1.
After Yale won at No. 4 singles to trim the Hoosiers overall lead to 3-2, Ilya Tiraspolsky clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 2 singles.
Up next the Hoosiers return to the IU Tennis Center for a match against Princeton on Sunday Feb. 6 at 11:00 a.m.
