Hoosiers Close Weekend with 5-2 Victory over Marquette

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team completed a 2-0 weekend with a 5-2 win over Marquette on Sunday at the IU Tennis Center.

Indiana (2-1) won doubles matches 6-3 and 6-4 to earn the doubles point.

Alexandra Staiculescu won her second match of the weekend with a 6-1, 6-2 victory to put IU up 2-0.

After Marquette got on the board with a win at No. 1 singles, Mila Mejic won her match 6-2, 6-1 to put Indiana up 3-1.

Lexi Kubas clinched the match for the Hoosiers for the second straight day with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles. Lara Schneider also won at singles for the Hoosiers.

Up next Indiana will host Butler in a midweek match on February 9 at 4:30 p.m. at the IU Tennis Center.
