Hoosiers Host No. 3 Ohio State, Penn State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team will welcome Ohio State and Penn State to Bloomington this weekend.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers hosted Purdue on March 26 in Bloomington. At No. 3 doubles Michael Andre and Luka Vukovic won 6-4 to improve to 6-2 in dual matches this season. Purdue came out on top 4-0 in the overall team match.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The Buckeyes are 17-2 on the season and 2-1 in conference play with 4-0 wins over Northwestern and Illinois and a loss against Michigan. Ohio State has five ranked singles players and two ranked doubles teams including the top ranked doubles team. Penn State comes in with a 8-9 mark on the season and are 0-2 in Big Ten play. The Nittany Lions lost 4-3 to No. 20 Northwestern and 4-0 to No. 52 Illinois.
THE CAPTAINS
The Hoosiers captains for the 2022 season are seniors Patrick Fletchall, Carson Haskins and Mac Rogers.
Fletchall has won 33-career singles matches in his three seasons in Bloomington while also appearing at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles in the Hoosier lineup. The Carmel-native was also an Academic All-Big Ten honoree during the 2020-2021 season.
Haskins is among the most seasoned veterans returning to the IU team. He's notched 45-career singles victories and has spent time at most spots throughout the lineup. Like Fletchall, Haskins was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree last season.
Rogers is a Bloomington native and was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree during the 2020-2021 campaign.
TAKING A LOOK AT THE STATS
Patrick Fletchall leads the Hoosiers with six singles wins in dual match play. Fletchall has a 4-2 record at No. 2 singles. In doubles the Hoosiers most successful pairing has been Fletchall and Ilya Tiraspolsky and Andre and Vukovic. Andre and Vukovic are 6-2 in dual matches.
