
IUTF Off to Hot Start at Pepsi Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After weather canceled the Thursday portion, Indiana Track & Field returned for the second day of the Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday.
KEY MOMENTS
• Bailey Hertenstein got it started in the track as she won the 1500m with a quick time of 4:15.25.
• Anna Watson picked up fourth and was the second collegiate in the pole vault. Watson was able to clear a height of 4.16m (13' 7.75").
• Under the lights, Jake Gebhardt and Austin Haskett went two three in the steeplechase, respectively. Gebhardt crossed in a time of 8:56.43 while Haskett picked up a time of 8:58.37.
• In the men's 1500m field, Kyle Mau bounced back and took fifth. He saw a time of 3:44.81.
• Sean Mockler kicked off the meet in the field for the Hoosiers in style by throwing the second-best mark in IU history in the hammer throw. Mockler heaved a throw 67.47m (221' 4") and finished in fifth.
• JaiQuan Earls competed in the long jump on Friday night, taking sixth with a mark of 7.22m (23' 8.25").
• Paola Fernandez-Sola competed in the long jump invite where she leaped a mark of 6.02m(19' 9").
• Jyles Etienne cleared a height of 2.16m (6' 9") in the men's high jump invite and tied for sixth.

• Kenny Benton torched his previous personal best by picking up a time of 20.97.
• Keelan Grant both picked up a personal best in the steeplechase with a time of 9:06.36.
• Makayla Hunter competed in her collegiate javelin where she threw a mark of 43.97m (144' 3") to place 13th overall.
