BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team will go on the road this week to Maryland and Rutgers.

Last week the Hoosiers lost matches against Penn State (5-1) and at No. 37 Northwestern (7-0). In the Hoosiers match against Penn State Mila Mejic won her singles match 6-1, 6-3.
Maryland is 14-5 overall and 3-4 in the Big Ten. The Terrapins have won Big Ten matches against Minnesota, Iowa and Rutgers. Rutgers comes in with a 5-13 overall record and 0-7 mark in Big Ten matches.
Indiana has posted a record of 49-53 in dual match singles play. Lara Schneider is 11-5 on the season in singles and Staiculescu is 10-6. In doubles the Hoosiers are 20-27 combined, with Schneider and Masic leading the way at 8-7.
The Hoosiers return six players and added transfer Lara Schneider after she completed her freshman season at Florida State.
Schneider was ranked No. 25 in the 2020 class in the Tennis Recruiting Network and a five-star recruit. She graduated from Wando High School in 2020 and was ranked No. 1 in the girls 16 age division USTA South Region rankings in 2018.
Schneider and teammate Laura Masic went a perfect 6-0 at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship in the fall and qualified for the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego.
