UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Indiana softball team dropped a 6-0 game on the road at Penn State on Friday in the first of a three-game series.
Key Moments
• Penn State struck first with two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.
• In the fourth inning Indiana second baseman Cora Bassett made a diving play to her right to prevent a base hit.
• A Penn State two-run home run in the fifth inning put the Nittany Lions by 5-0.
• In the seventh inning Grayson Radcliffe beat out a throw from the Penn State shortstop for a base hit. Kinsey Mitchell came on to run and reached second base.
Notes
• The Hoosiers drop to 22-11 overall and 5-5 in Big Ten games.
• Brianna Copeland and Grayson Radcliffe recorded hits for the Hoosiers.
• Linsey Warick picked off her 10th runner of the season.
