Hoosiers Power to 11-5 Victory over Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Indiana softball team tallied 11 hits in an 11-5 win at Penn State on Saturday.
Key Moments
• In the first inning Cora Bassett walked and then Taylor Minnick hit a two-run home run to put the Hoosiers up 2-0.
• Indiana added a third run as Brianna Copeland scored on a wild pitch to put the Hoosiers up 3-0.
• The Hoosiers loaded the bases in the second inning and Taylor Minnick grounded out for an RBI to score Tatum Hayes and put Indiana up 4-0.
• Penn State scored one in the third and two in the fourth with a home run to cut the Hoosiers lead to 4-3.
• In the fifth inning Taylor Minnick doubled and Copeland hit one off the wall. Copeland came all the way around to score on a Penn State error and IU went up 6-3.
• Lindsey Warick hit a bloop single to right field to score two and increase the Indiana lead to 8-3.
• Brittany Ford homered to ignite a three-run inning for the Hoosiers in the seventh to put them ahead 11-4.

• With the win the Hoosiers improve to 23-11 overall and 6-5 in the Big Ten.
• The home run for Taylor Minnick was her fourth of the season.
• The home run for Brittany Ford was her sixth home run of the season.
• The Hoosiers scored four runs on six hits in the fifth inning.
• Indiana has scored in double digits in five games this season.
• Seven different Hoosiers tallied a hit in the game.
•Kinsey Mitchell recorded a season-high three hits for her sixth multi-hit game of the season. In addition to Mitchell, Minnick and Ford also had multi-hit games with two hits.
