Hoosiers Host 13th Annual Dale England Cup

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 18 Indiana rowing will cap its regular season racing in the 13th annual Dale England Cup, its home event, Saturday (April 30) morning at the Dale England Rowing Center on Lake Lemon.

Saturday – April 30
9 a.m. – 2N8/2V8 (Michigan State)
9:15 a.m. – N8/3V8 (Clemson, Michigan State, Notre Dame)
9:30 a.m. – 2V4 (Clemson, Michigan State, Notre Dame)
9:45 a.m. – V4 (Clemson, Michigan State, Notre Dame)
10 a.m. – 2V8 (Clemson, Michigan State, Notre Dame)

SCORING SYSTEM
For each race in the following events, a crew earns the following points for their team:
V8 – 36 points for the winning crew, 27 points for 2nd, 18 points for 3rd, 9 points for 4th
2V8 – 24 points for winning crew, 18 points for 2nd, 12 points for 3rd, 6 points for 4th
V4 – 12 points for winning crew, 9 points for 2nd, 6 points for 3rd, 3 points for 4th

Tiebreaker - The higher placing crew in 1V8 event shall serve as the tiebreaker between two teams if the team totals are equal.
Â
The team that earns the most overall total points wins the Dale England Cup Trophy.

NOTES
- For the first time since 2018, Indiana will welcome three opponents to the Dale England Cup. The Hoosiers will race Clemson, Michigan State and Notre Dame.
- IU comes in as the 18th-ranked program in the Pocock/CRCA poll for the second straight week. Clemson is the only other team in this weekend's field.
- Indiana has won the Dale England Cup each of the last four seasons (2021, 2019, 2018, 2017) and has five total victories in the regatta named after longtime supporter Dale England, who passed away in 2019.
- The Hoosiers last raced two weeks ago in the challenging Big Ten Invitational. Four different boats totaled four wins in the two-day event in Sarasota, Florida.
