Hoosiers Fall in Series Finale at Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – The Indiana softball team scored first but could not overcome a pair of Wisconsin home runs in a 6-2 defeat on Sunday at the Goodman Softball Complex.
Key Moments
• In the third inning Aaliyah Andrews beat out a throw to get a single. Andrews then stole second, third and home to score for the Hoosiers.
• In the bottom of the third inning Wisconsin hit a home run to tie the score 1-1.
• In the Hoosiers half of the fifth inning, Cora Bassett and Brianna Copeland singled and the Hoosiers had second and third, but stranded the runners.
• Indiana got two outs on Wisconsin in the sixth inning, but the Badgers hit and pair of home runs to go up 6-1.
• In the Hoosiers seventh inning Copeland and Taylor Minnick singled. Minnick drove in Abby Meeks who came in to pinch hit and walked. Indiana scored a run to close the gap to 6-2.

• Indiana drops to 19-10 overall and 2-4 in Big Ten games.
• The Hoosiers had seven hits in the game.
• Indiana tallied five stolen bases, three by Aaliyah Andrews.
• Macy Montgomery got the start in the circle and pitched 5.2 innings and struck out five Wisconsin batters. Montgomery retired six of the first seven batters she faced.
• Brianna Copeland went 2-for-4 and recorded five putouts.
