Stone Returns to Gold on Final Day of Big Ten Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Indiana Track & Field completed its stint at the 2022 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday afternoon. The Hoosiers we paced by Nathan Stone who won the pole vault competition.
KEY MOMENTS
• After competing in a jump off, Nathan Stone came out on top of the pole vault after clearing a height of 5.40m (17' 8.5"). Tyler Carrel also made the podium with a fourth place finish and a clearance of 5.35m (17' 6.5")
• On the track, Rikkoi Brathwaite was the highlight as he took the silver in the 100m with a time of 10.11. Antonio Laidler also competed in the final of the 100m where he crossed sixth and saw a time of 10.23.
• The men's 4x100m team comprised of Brathwaite, Kenny Benton, JaiQuan Earls, and Antonio Laidler saw a season best of 39.95 to take the bronze medal.
• Laidler then returned in the 200m final as he picked up another sixth place finish with a time of 20.84.
• Shaton Vaughn finished in fifth in the 400m hurdles, going a time of 52.18.
• Hannah Stoffel had a busy day, competing in the final of the 800m and 1500m. Stoffel was able to capture a time of 4:25.64 in the 1500m to place seventh. In the 800m, Stoffel went 2:10.07 and finished in eighth.
• Turning to the field, Jyles Etienne and Grayson Rolen placed fourth and fifth in the high jump, respectively. They both cleared a height of 2.14m (7' 0.25").
• In the women's shot put, Maddy Pollard collected a fourth palce finish with a put of 16.96m (55' 7.75"). Fresh off the discus, Jayden Ulrich saw a mark of 16.54m (54' 3.75") to secure seventh.
• Rounding out the Hoosiers in the field, Mahogany Jenkins leaped a mark of 12.48m (40' 11.5") to make the podium.
NOTABLES
• Rikkoi Brathwaite's time of 10.11 was a new personal best in the 100m. His time is XXXX in the NCAA East this season.
• Grayson Rolen's clearance of 2.14m (7' 0.25") in the high jump is a personal record. Also, in the high jump Jyles Etienne saw a season best with a clearance of 2.14m (7' 0.25")
• Antonio Laidler's time of 20.84 in the 200m set a personal best and puts him in a NCAA East Prelim qualifying spot.
