On the First Varsity 8 race…
"I was telling myself to stay calm the whole time. We had a shaky start but still managed to get out in front of the other crews, and staying calm was the most important thing for our boat. The last 500 meters were about leaving everything we had on the course. [Katherine Nelson] told us that we were three seats down, and the boat knew that we had to go.
"Holding off Rutgers wasn't easy, but we trusted our strength, training and just how badly we wanted that medal in the end. Coach Peterson told us before we launched to 'have no regrets,' and that is exactly how we raced today."
On team's fourth place finish…
"The success of the team today is totally attributed to the hard work we have put into this season from day one. We could not have done this if it wasn't for everyone, every day giving it their all to push themselves and others. I could not be prouder of my team and how they raced today."
