
IU, Portland Settle for Draw

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Battling through 29 drawn fouls, the Indiana men's soccer team (0-1-1) settled for a 3-3 draw with Portland (0-0-2) Tuesday (Aug. 30) night on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
The Hoosiers had the bulk of the opportunities with 20 shots, nine on goal, versus Portland's five, but the Pilots took advantage of their chances to force a tie. Portland players and coaches were shown seven yellow cards versus IU's one.
KEY MOMENTS
• 6' – Indiana scored the opening goal in the sixth minute for a second straight match as senior defender Nyk Sessock's long throw fell to redshirt senior midfielder Ben Yeagley, who took a touch and fired into the side netting.
• 8' – Portland equalized two minutes later as senior forward Gurman Sangha found junior midfielder Brandon Cambridge for their first goal.
• 13' – Senior forward Maouloune Goumballe drew a foul in the top of the box and earned a penalty for the Hoosiers. Sophomore forward Tommy Mihalic stepped to take and rocketed his shot past the outstretched keeper to give IU a 2-1 advantage.
