BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Battling through 29 drawn fouls, the Indiana men's soccer team (0-1-1) settled for a 3-3 draw with Portland (0-0-2) Tuesday (Aug. 30) night on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

The Hoosiers had the bulk of the opportunities with 20 shots, nine on goal, versus Portland's five, but the Pilots took advantage of their chances to force a tie. Portland players and coaches were shown seven yellow cards versus IU's one.

KEY MOMENTS
• 6' – Indiana scored the opening goal in the sixth minute for a second straight match as senior defender Nyk Sessock's long throw fell to redshirt senior midfielder Ben Yeagley, who took a touch and fired into the side netting.
• 8' – Portland equalized two minutes later as senior forward Gurman Sangha found junior midfielder Brandon Cambridge for their first goal.
• 13' – Senior forward Maouloune Goumballe drew a foul in the top of the box and earned a penalty for the Hoosiers. Sophomore forward Tommy Mihalic stepped to take and rocketed his shot past the outstretched keeper to give IU a 2-1 advantage.
• 28' – Sessock's second assist of the night gave IU a two-goal lead. His cross from the left wing found the head of redshirt senior forward Ryan Wittenbrink, who nudged it in while locking arms with a defender.
• 32' – Portland got a goal back before the half thanks to a nice counter move. Dribbling through midfield and into the final third, Sangha found sophomore midfielder Sebastien Nava on the flank. Nava crossed and junior forward Jacob Babalai turned it in with a header.
• 57 – The Pilots scored the lone goal of the second half and equalized. Sangha beat his defender to the end line, crossed and Nava was there to chest it in over the goal line.

NOTABLES
• Indiana has gone 135 consecutive matches without back-to-back regular season losses. The streak spans 3,221 days in totals dating back to November 1, 2013.
• IU is undefeated in its last 10 home matches, owning a 9-0-1 record during that span.
• The Hoosiers record in home openers is now 31-10-9 (.710).
• Sessock tallied two assists on the night, a career high. In three seasons at IU, Sessock now has three assists.
• Wittenbrink has now scored in both of IU's matches this season, bringing his career total to 11 goals.
• Ben Yeagley scored his first goal in over a year, his last coming as the match-winner in IU's 2021 season opener (Aug. 27, 2021). Yeagley now has two goals in his career.
• Mihalic scored his first-career penalty goal Tuesday night. The sophomore has six goals in his young career.
