
SMU Defeats Indiana to open Islanders Classic

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Indiana Volleyball team (2-2, 0-0) couldn't overcome a slow start offensively Friday evening, falling to SMU (4-1, 0-0) in the opener of the Islanders Classic in straight sets.
The Hoosiers were led by Mady Saris (12 kills, .435 hitting percentage) on the attack but wound up on the wrong side of the result, falling 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-19) on Friday night.
IU will have two more opportunities this weekend with matches against Sam Houston State and Texas A&M-CC on the docket for Saturday's slate.
KEY MOMENTS
• A 3-0 run with kills from Mady Saris and Kaley Rammelsberg helped trim SMU's lead to just 13-11 midway through the opening set.
