Indiana Field Hockey Defeats Miami (OH) at Home

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Indiana Field Hockey got back on track Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 win over Miami of Ohio at Deborah Tobias Field.
The win brings Indiana's overall record to 7-4.
The game today vs. the RedHawks marked the second-to-last non-conference game of the regular season. Of the eight remaining regular season games, seven of them will be Big Ten games.
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana's offense got initiated quickly with redshirt junior Sydney Keld capitalizing on a penalty stroke opportunity in the 5th minute to put Indiana up 1-0.
• In the 13th minute, Miami tied the game at 1-1 from a Claudia Negrete Garcia goal, assisted by Luli Rosso.
• The Hoosiers got the lead back before the half when sophomore Yip van Wonderen cranked a rocket of a shot past the keeper in the 28th minute, for Indiana to go up 2-1.
• In the last ten minutes of the game, Miami got off two shots on goal, one in the 52nd minute and one in the 54th, marking two crucial chances for Miami to tie the game. Both shots were saved by Indiana sophomore goalkeeper Arabella Loveridge.
NOTABLES
• Keld's goal was her fourth of the season and her second via penalty stroke this year. She is now second on the team in goals scored.
• For van Wonderen, that was her second goal of the season. She has eight points on the year thus far, too.
• Through 11 games, Loveridge has 41 saves.
