Hoosiers Drop Road Battle against Badgers, 2-0

MADISON, Wis. – Indiana women's soccer (2-2-6, 0-2-1) drops their second road matchup, 2-0 against the Wisconsin Badgers (8-1-2, 3-0-0) at McClimon Field in Madison on Sunday afternoon.
KEY MOMENTS
• It was a steady match at the start with Indiana and Wisconsin going back and forth. The Hoosiers started off strong with a couple of shots in the second minute, but could not find the back of the net.
• A turning point in the match began after sophomore goalkeeper Jamie Gerstenberg received a red card after a collision in the 32nd minute, requiring the Hoosiers to play with one less player to finish the first half.
• Wisconsin capitalized in the 34th minute after Junior Emma Jaskaniec's found the ball after a header down into the box to take the lead.
• Senior Megan Wampler had an opportunity to even the score in the 38th minute, but could not get it past the goalkeeper.
• The Badgers would find the net again in the 40th minute after freshman Riley Phlibin recepted a strong cross from Jaskaniec giving them a cushioned 2-0 lead before the half.
• Indiana saw its best chance in the second half from senior midfielder Alaina Kalin when she fired one just outside the penalty arc as it bounced off the top of the cross bar.

• Five different players had shots for the Hoosiers, led by Wampler with three.
• Graduate goalkeeper Bethany Kopel tallied three saves against the Badgers.
• Sophomore Zoe Tiger earned her third start this season.
• Freshman Olivia Albert earned came off the bench in her fourth game this season, tallying one shot.
• Gerstenberg earned her 25th career start and ninth this season. She will sit out a required one game after being issued a red card.
