
Hoosiers Host Two Matches Against Buckeyes, Cornhuskers

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's soccer team (2-2-6, 0-2-1) begins a two-game homestand at Bill Armstrong Stadium versus the Ohio State Buckeyes (6-2-2, 1-1-1) on Sept. 29 at 7:00 p.m. ET and the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. ET.
Both matches will be broadcasted on BTN+. On Thursday, Cruz Martin (PxP) and Zach Browning (Analyst) will be on the call with Anna Winterhalder reporting on the sideline.
ABOUT THE BUCKEYES
• Head coach Lori Walker-Hock is in her 26th season at the helm of Ohio State's women's soccer team. She has led the team to a 6-6-2 on the season.
• Ohio State is coming off a 2-0 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Kailyn Dudukovich scored in the fifth minute, giving OSU a quick lead. Kine Flotre netted the second goal in the 67th minute to give the Buckeyes their first conference win.
• Emma Sears and Peyton McNamara lead the Buckeye's offense this season in goals (8), assists (3) and points (19).
• Goalkeeper Katherine Robinson made two saves in the first half before Molly Pritchard entered the match. Robinson and Pritchard combined for the Buckeye's fourth shutout this season. Pritchard has played in 10 games, totaling 495 minutes, 16 saves and four wins. She holds a goals against average of .55 and .842 save percentage.
ABOUT THE CORNHUSKERS
• Nebraska (4-4-3, 2-1-0) will face Purdue on Sept. 29 before taking the pitch against the Hoosiers. They are led by long-time head coach John Walker who is in his 28th season with the Huskers.
• A goal in the eighth minute from sophomore Sarah Weber led the Cornhuskers to a 1-0 victory over Michigan on Sunday. NU outshot the Wolverines 18-8 in the match, but the Huskers were able to retain the lead.
• Senior midfielder Emma Jaskaniec leads the offense in points (15) and goals (7).
• Graduate goalkeeper Erin McKinney has started in all nine games, totaling 810 minutes and six wins. She has 39 saves on the season and five shutouts with a .89 goals against average and a .83 save percentage.

• OSU leads the series 15-13-3. In the last matchup, the teams settled to a 1-1 draw in Columbus on Sept. 30, 2021.
• Nebraska leads the series 8-1-1 against the Hoosiers. In the last matchup on Sept. 22, 2019, NU claimed a 2-0 victory in Bloomington.
LAST TIME OUT
• It was a steady match at the start with Indiana and Wisconsin going back and forth. The Hoosiers started off strong with a couple of shots in the second minute but could not find the back of the net.
• A turning point in the match began after sophomore goalkeeper Jamie Gerstenberg received a red card after a collision in the 32nd minute, requiring the Hoosiers to play with one less player to finish the first half.
• Wisconsin capitalized in the 34th minute after Junior Emma Jaskaniec's found the ball after a header down into the box to take the lead.
• Senior Megan Wampler had an opportunity to even the score in the 38th minute but could not get it past the goalkeeper.
• The Badgers would find the net again in the 40th minute after freshman Riley Phlibin recepted a strong cross from Jaskaniec giving them a cushioned 2-0 lead before the half.
• Indiana saw its best chance in the second half from senior midfielder Alaina Kalin when she fired one just outside the penalty arc as it bounced off the top of the cross bar.

• Indiana set a new program record for longest streak without conceding a goal since the 1993 inaugural season against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Sept. 22. Minnesota's first goal of the night in the 67th minute ended the streak at 788 minutes.

• Through 23 career starts, Gerstenberg has posted 15 shutouts (plus two combined shutouts), including seven-straight shutouts to open the 2022 season. She holds a career goals against average of 0.36, which ranks tops in program history. Indiana has conceded one or fewer goals in 22-of-23 career starts made by Gerstenberg.
• She has competed for both the U17 and U19 German National Teams and was among those invited to camp prior to the 2022 FIFA U20 World Cup.
