
Indiana Finishes Seventh at Windon Memorial

SKOKIE, Ill. – The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team finished seventh at the Windon Memorial Classic at the Evanston Golf Club on Tuesday. The Hoosiers shot an 853 (282-286-285; +13) over the three-round event.
Host Northwestern claimed the team title with a team score of 838 (-2), including a tournament-low round of 270 (-10) on Tuesday. Little Rock (847; +7) and Kent State (847; +7) tied for the second spot in the team standings.

• Fifth-year senior Mitch Davis tied for the Hoosier-low tournament after shooting a 212 (68-74-70; +2) to finish t-13th overall. Davis put together six birdies in his final round of 70 (E), with three coming in both the front and back nine.
• Senior Noah Gillard went under par on the final day of the tournament to tie for 13th at 212 (73-70-69; +2). He played the most consistent round of any Hoosier with three birdies on his scorecard of 69 (-1) and 13 pars.
• Junior Drew Salyers notched another top-20 finish (t-18th) after shooting a 213 (71-70-72; +3) in Skokie. His final round of 72 (+2) was highlighted by two birdies and an eagle on the 552-yard Par-5 13th hole.
• Graduate transfer Thomas Hursey tied for 48th-place after compiling a scorecard of 220 (72-74-74; +10). Hursey compiled three birdies in his final round of 74 (+4).
• Junior Clay Merchent dropped to 72nd in the individual standings after shooting a 226 (71-72-83; +16). He played back-to-back birdies on the front nine of his 83 (+13) final round.
• Senior Eric Berggren, competing as an individual, posted the lowest Hoosier score of the day with a 68 (-2) to tie for 28th overall with a three-round score of 215 (75-72-68; +5). His final round of 68 (-2) included five birdie conversions, including four over his final eight holes.
