
Indiana Tied with Kansas After First Day in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team is tied for sixth with Kansas at the Fighting Irish Classic at the Warren Golf Course on Sunday. The Hoosiers shot a 554 (281-273; -6) through the first 36 holes of play.
Ninth-ranked Florida leads the tournament after shooting a 543 (270-273; -17), while No. 5 North Carolina shot a 545 (279-266; -15) and is in second heading into the final day of action.

Davis shot a 66 (-4) in the second round, which included four-straight birdies for the second-straight round. He carded 11 total birdies on Sunday.
• Senior Noah Gillard (137; -3) matched the scorecard of Davis. He knocked in three birdies in the first round of play and turned in a score of 71 (+1). Gillard played a bogey-free round of golf over the second 18 with four birdies for a final tally of 66 (-4).
• Junior Drew Salyers completed the first day one stroke behind Davis and Gillard at 138 ( -2). He shot a team-best 67 (-3) in the opening round with six birdies, including four on the front nine. His second round of 71 (+1) included a birdie on No. 17.
• Graduate transfer Thomas Hursey played a steady day of golf and finished at 142 (+2). The Ferris State transfer tapped in two birdies in his first round of 72 (2-over). Hursey put home three birdie tries during his second round 70 (E).
• Senior Eric Berggren rounded out the Hoosier lineup with a 150 (+10) through two rounds. Berggren carded a 2-over 72 with four birdies in the first round. His second 18 (78; +8) played three birdies.
