Indiana Welcomes Buckeyes to Bill Armstrong

BLOOMINGTON — Coming off back-to-back victories, Indiana men's soccer (5-3-4, 1-1-2 B1G) will look to keep its momentum going on Sunday (Oct. 15), hosting Ohio State (3-4-5, 1-2-1 B1G) in Big Ten Conference play on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Fans can stream the match on the Big Ten Plus digital platform. Kickoff is set for noon ET.
Sunday features a double dose of soccer as the Indiana women's team will face Michigan at 3 p.m. ET. Both programs will also be hosting "Bark at The Bill," allowing fans to enjoy the match with their dogs.
KICKING OFF
• Indiana is 4-1-2 at Bill Armstrong Stadium, recording six clean sheets and allowing just one goal.
• The reigning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, Samuel Sarver carried his good form into the new week with an assist in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Evansville, his third goal contribution in two matches.
• In opposite technical areas Sunday will be IU's two 1994 national player of the year awards winners. Ohio State head coach Brian Maisonnueve and IU head coach Todd Yeagley each were named the top player in college soccer by separate organizations while playing their senior season for IU. Maisonnueve won the Hermann Trophy and Yeagley the MAC Player of the Year Award (The two trophies merged in 2002 into what is now known as the MAC Hermann Trophy).
• Indiana is among the country's elite in two key statistical categories: The Hoosiers rank No. 7 in goals against average (.583) and No. 13 in shots per game (15.8).
ABOUT THE BUCKEYES
• Ohio State is 3-4-5, 1-2-1 in Big Ten play and 1-4-0 in road matches. The Buckeyes are coming off a 2-2 tie at Louisville, their third consecutive draw.
• OSU is led by sixth-year head coach Brian Maisonnueve, who owns a 31-48-16 record during his time in Columbus. Maisonnueve played for Indiana from 1991-94 and was an assistant coach under IU head coach Todd Yeagley for nine seasons.
• Senior midfielder Laurence Wootton leads the Buckeyes with four goals. Sophomore forward Marko Borkovic has contributed a team-high four assists.
SERIES HISTORY
• Indiana has historically dominated the series, winning 48 of the 57 matchups. The Hoosiers won the first 26 meetings between 1973-2000.
• IU and Ohio State opened their 2022 Big Ten slates against each other in Columbus, a 2-1 defeat for the visitors. Prior to that, Indiana had won seven straight, outscoring the Buckeyes 20-1.
